GAZA (Palestine Foundation Information Center) The Israeli occupation army targeted a humanitarian group’s vehicle traveling on Salah al-Din road in Khan Yunis city on Saturday, killing five civilians including three working with the World Central Kitchen (WCK).
Eyewitnesses said that another Israeli airstrike targeted the same vehicle as citizens rushed to the scene to try to rescue those inside it, killing two others.
Medical sources affirmed that bodies of five martyrs, including three WCK workers, were transferred to the Nasser Hospital in Khan Yunis.
The three slain WCK workers were identified as Azem Abu Daqqa, Ahed Azmi and Mohamed an-Namla.
This was the second deadly attack by the Israeli army on WCK-marked cars in the Gaza Strip.
On April 1, 2024, seven WCK employees, including four from US, Australia, Britain and Poland, lost their lives in an Israeli airstrike on their vehicle in central Gaza. The attack sparked global condemnation, prompting the organization to temporarily suspend its activities in Gaza.
