Israeli airstrikes in Lebanon kill 16, injure 22 civilians

BEIRUT, (Palestine Foundation Information Center), At least 16 people were killed and 22 others were injured in a series of Israeli airstrikes that targeted different areas in Lebanon at dawn Wednesday, according to official and local Lebanese media.

Lebanese news reports said that Israeli warplanes carried out raids during the early morning hours on the towns of Hannawiyah, Shihabiyah, Qana, and al‑Housh in the Tyre district of southern Lebanon, in addition to the village of Lilaki in Beirut’s southern suburb, and the village of Zilaya in the Western Beqaa.

These strikes came after a bloody day in Lebanon on Tuesday, when a Lebanese army soldier, a paramedic, a mayor, a municipal council member, and several civilians were killed in Israeli attacks on towns in the south, Beqaa, and Beirut’s southern suburb, amid ongoing military escalation since Monday.

According to the Lebanese government’s Disaster Risk Management Unit, Israeli airstrikes have killed 570 people, wounded 1,444, and displaced 759,300, including 122,600 in shelters.

Meanwhile, the Israeli occupation army continues to issue evacuation warnings for areas in Beirut’s southern suburb and villages in southern Lebanon amid relentless airstrikes, while Hezbollah continues to launch rocket and drone counterattacks on Israeli military sites and bases.
