GAZA(Palestine Foundation Information Center)13-year-old Dina Abu Mohsen wished to realize her dream of becoming a doctor treating children. Still, an Israeli tank projectile claimed her life as she was recovering from a leg amputation at Nasser Hospital in Khan Yunis, south of the Gaza Strip.
A few weeks ago, Dina lost both her parents and two brothers in an Israeli airstrike on her home in Khan Younis.
On Sunday night, lying in her bed in Nasser Hospital, she was reportedly killed by a tank shell.
One of the doctors at the hospital, Mohamed Zaqqout, told Al Jazeera correspondent Wael al-Dahdouh that Dina was sleeping in her bed in the maternity building of Nasser Hospital when a tank shell penetrated the ceiling of her room, hitting her directly in the head.
Zaqqout said that the Israeli occupation army did not warn the hospital or provide an evacuation order, affirming that there were clashes between resistance fighters and Israeli forces in Khan Yunis, but not in the area where the hospital is located.
He condemned what happened to Dina and the hospital as a “heinous crime.”
All she ever wanted was to become a doctor as she said in a video recording. The Israeli army killed her and her dream.
