DAMASCUS/BEIRUT(Palestine Foundation Information Center)The Israeli army renewed, overnight and at dawn Tuesday, their aggression against sites in Syria and southern Lebanon through air and artillery bombardment.
The Israeli army claimed that it detected rocket fire from Syria and responded by shelling the source of the fire.
“Some time ago, several launches were recorded from Syria toward Israel. The shells landed in an unpopulated area. In response, IDF artillery struck the sites from which the Syrian fire originated, while IDF tanks shelled a military post of the Syrian army,” it said in a statement.
Along the same line, the Lebanese National News Agency reported that the Israeli forces opened machine gun fire at the vicinity of the towns of Aita al-Shaab and Naqoura at dawn Tuesday.
Meanwhile, the Israeli reconnaissance aircraft hovered over the villages of the western and central sectors, reaching the outskirts of the city of Tire and above the course of the Litani River.
“Last night, enemy forces fired three shells on the outskirts of the town of Maroun al-Ras, while an enemy drone carried out an air attack, targeting a house on the outskirts of the town with a guided missile,” the Agency reported.
On Monday evening, the Israeli army also bombed the eastern outskirts of the town of Naqoura in the western sector with artillery shells.
