WEST BANK, (Palestine Foundation Information Center), The Israeli occupation army appropriated 47 dunums of land belonging to the Palestinian towns of Fandaqumiya and Silat al-Dhahr in Jenin and Burqa in Nablus, according to the Colonization and Wall Resistance Commission on Monday.
These seized dunums will be added to 503 dunums of land already taken from the three towns under a previous military order issued last month in order to construct a security road connecting the illegal settlements of Homesh and Sanur, which were evacuated in 2005.
Israel’s far-right government, particularly finance minister Bezalel Smotrich, announced plans in August 2025 to rebuild the evacuated West Bank settlements of Homesh and Sanur as part of a larger strategy to re-establish settlements and expand Jewish presence across the occupied Palestinian territories,
The Israeli army has recently issued 23 military orders expropriating Palestinian land in the northern West Bank, particularly in Tubas and Jenin governorates, to lay the groundwork for military infrastructure that would pave the way for the construction of new colonies in the area.
