Israeli Arrest Campaign Escalates Tensions in West Bank

WEST BANK, (Palestine Foundation Information Center), The Israeli occupation forces (IOF) carried out a series of coordinated raids early Friday across multiple areas in the West Bank, storming homes, conducting searches, and detaining several young men.

In the town of Deir al-Ghusun, north of Tulkarem, five young men were arrested after Israeli forces raided their homes.

In Jenin, Israeli soldiers assaulted several young men after stopping their vehicle in the Wadi Ezzeddin area. The incident coincided with a raid on a residential building in the German neighborhood of the city, although no arrests were reported.

In the Bethlehem governorate, southern West Bank, the IOF arrested a Palestinian from Aida refugee camp after raiding his family home for several hours.

The IOF troops have continued to escalate daily raids and arrest campaigns across towns and cities in the West Bank, often involving home invasions, searches, and property destruction. The IOF operations target various groups, including minors, the injured, and workers inside Israel.

According to official Palestinian data, more than 9,300 Palestinians are currently held in Israeli prisons, including 66 women and 350 children, under what are described as harsh detention conditions.

Meanwhile, two teenage boys were shot by Israeli forces on Thursday evening near the al-Mazra’a al-Sharqiya junction, north of Ramallah.

Eyewitnesses reported that Israeli soldiers opened fire on two 14-year-old boys from the town of Silwad, wounding one in the chest. His condition was described as critical, while the other sustained moderate injuries. Both were transferred to the hospital for treatment.
