Israeli forces attack Palestinian farmers east of Bethlehem; several injured

The Palestine Foundation Pakistan

Several Palestinian farmers suffered from tear gas inhalation on Friday after Israeli occupation forces (IOF) attacked them while they were plowing their land in the village of Al-Rashayda, east of Bethlehem, for the third consecutive day.

Local sources said IOF troops fired live bullets, stun grenades, and toxic tear gas canisters at farmers working in the Wadi Ayash area, forcing them to flee their fields. Several civilians suffered from suffocation due to gas inhalation.

The attack follows a pattern of escalating IOF and settler violence across the West Bank, particularly in rural areas where Palestinians rely on farming as their main source of livelihood.

Earlier Friday, IOF units carried out widespread arrest raids across several West Bank towns and villages, storming homes and detaining Palestinians in what human rights groups describe as “a daily campaign of intimidation and collective punishment.”

The renewed aggression comes amid a surge in settler attacks and military raids parallel to Israel’s genocide in Gaza, which has killed tens of thousands and displaced nearly the entire population of the besieged Strip.
