GAZA (Palestine Foundation Information Center) As the US-backed Israeli genocidal war on the Gaza Strip entered day 217 on Friday, aerial and artillery strikes continued to pound and target different areas and massacre more civilians, especially in Rafah.
Reporters for the Palestinian Information Center (PIC) said that the Israeli occupation army continued to bomb homes in different areas of Gaza, especially in Rafah where dozens of causalities were reported during the past 24 hours.
The Israeli occupation forces (IOF) penetrated the security fence east of Abasan Al-Kabira town in Khan Yunis amid heavy gunfire and artillery shelling, killing at least 8 citizens of the same family.
The Israeli warplanes also launched several air raids on the Al-Salam neighborhood, west of the Rafah crossing.
The Israeli forces have intensified their aerial and artillery bombardment since the morning hours, north of the Nuseirat camp in the central Gaza Strip.
Three other Palestinians were killed and five were wounded in an Israeli airstrike on the Abdel-Al family house in Yarmouk Street in central Gaza City.
Six Palestinians were also injured in an Israeli attack on the Al-Dada family house on Al-Nafaq Street in Gaza City.
Meanwhile, several air raids targeted residential homes in the neighborhoods of Al-Zaytoun, Al-Sabra, Al-Nasr, Tal Al-Hawa, and Al-Shati camps in the city.
Similar airstrikes and artillery shells were reported in Rafah City, and north of the Nuseirat camp in the center of the Gaza Strip.
Last night, the ex-prisoner Mahmoud Ghoneim was killed along with 3 members of his family in an Israeli airstrike in the northern Gaza Strip.
Along the same line, Palestinian rights groups revealed in a joint statement that the recent Israeli aggression on Rafah resulted in 94 martyrs, including 36 children and 20 women, in addition to dozens of others wounded and several missing people, most of them in the bombing of civilian homes on the heads of their residents.
The Palestinian Center for Human Rights (PCHR), Al Mizan, and Al-Haq, vehemently denounced the initiation of the ground invasion by the Israeli military into eastern Rafah.
This egregious act stands as a stark testament to the failure of the international community to stop the ongoing genocide in Gaza, as per their legal obligations, and compel Israel to adhere to the provisional measures ordered by the International Court of Justice (ICJ). Despite clear legal obligations, Israel’s actions exemplify a blatant disregard for international law and human rights, and underscore the urgent need for decisive, global intervention to prevent further massacres, the joint statement reads.
