Israeli plan to establish 13 settler cities in the West Bank

WEST BANK (Palestine Foundation Information Center)Israeli Construction Minister Yitzhak Goldknopf has decided to begin planning the construction of 13 settler cities in the occupied West Bank over the next 25 years.

According to the Hebrew-language newspaper Israel Hayom, the plan also includes the establishment of five industrial zones and aims to increase the settler population in the West Bank to one million by the year 2050, through the construction of 180,000 settlement housing units.

An Israeli organization recently reported that the construction of settlement outposts has reached an unprecedented record in the history of Israeli settlement activity, marking a significant jump compared to previous years.

The organization Kerem Navot stated that 2024 alone witnessed the establishment of 60 new settlement outposts in the West Bank — equivalent to about one-fifth of all outposts established since 1997, totaling 284, according to a report published by Zman Yisrael.
