Israeli police attacked Palestinian protestors who rallied on Friday in support of the family of Sub Laban who are at risk of forcible expulsion from their house in the Old City of Jerusalem.
Palestinian protestors and foreign activists raised posters and chanted slogans that condemn the Israeli decision to expel the Sub Laban family from their house in the Aqabat al-Khaldiyya area.
For his part, the Palestinian citizen Mustafa Sub Laban said that he has been living in the house with his wife for fifty years, adding that they received a notice ordering the eviction of their house last May.
He underlined that they had rented their house from the Jordanian government before the Israeli occupation of Jerusalem, while the Zionist Association of Elad claims that it is established on lands owned by Jews before 1948.
At least 1,000 Jerusalemite citizens in the Old City and in the Sheikh Jarrah neighborhood are at risk of forcible expulsion after they received notices ordering the eviction of their houses in favor of Jewish settlers.
