Israeli police shut Lions Gate, prevent worshipers from entering Al-Aqsa Mosque

OCCUPIED JERUSALEM  (Palestine Foundation Information Center)  The Israeli police closed on Tuesday afternoon Al-Aqsa Mosque’s Lions Gate and prevented worshipers from entering the holy site.

Dozens of worshipers gathered in front of the Lions Gate after the police had prevented them from entering Al-Aqsa Mosque, forcing them to perform prayers outside the Mosque.

The Israeli police also tightened security measures around the gates of the Old City of Occupied Jerusalem, closing Damascus Gate for a period of time, assaulting a passerby, and announcing more streets to be closed within the day to facilitate extremist settlers’ storming of the Old City and Al-Buraq Wall (Western Wall).

This morning, hundreds of settlers stormed the yards of the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque via Al-Maghareba Gate, under the protection of Israeli police. Some time performed racist Talmudic rituals, carried out provocative tours in the Mosque’s courtyards, and raised the Israeli flag at the Dome of the Rock.

Extremist organizations of the alleged Temple groups called, a few days ago, for massive incursions into Al-Aqsa Mosque and raising the Israeli flag in its courtyards.
