GAZA, (Palestine Foundation Information Center), Hamas spokesman Hazem Qasem has affirmed that the Israeli occupation army continues to impose obstacles on passengers at the Rafah border crossing and does not allow the agreed‑upon numbers to leave.
In a statement on Wednesday, spokesman Qasem explained that the Israeli army had permitted only 27 percent of the agreed‑upon number of passengers to enter Gaza through the Rafah crossing.
Qasem added that the passengers who traveled through the crossing in recent days had been subjected to interrogation, abuse, and harassment at the hands of Israeli soldiers.
He stressed that Israel’s obstruction of travel through the Rafah crossing constitutes a clear violation of the ceasefire agreement and international law.
He urged mediators and the countries sponsoring the ceasefire agreement to press Israel to honor its commitments regarding the Rafah crossing and to end its violations in Gaza.
Gaza’s Government Media Office (GMO) reported on Wednesday that only 488 people had been able to travel through the Rafah border crossing since its reopening on February 2.
This came in a new report covering Palestinian arrivals and departures through the crossing from Monday, February 2, to Tuesday, February 10, 2026.
According to the report, a total of 275 passengers were able to depart during that period, with the majority of them leaving to receive medical treatment abroad.
In contrast, arrival records showed that 213 citizens returned to the Gaza Strip during the same period.
The report also noted that 26 passengers were denied passage and were sent back without any stated reasons, adding that the Rafah crossing was closed to passenger movement on Friday and Saturday.
