NABLUS (Palestine Foundation Information Center) A group of armed Israeli settlers bulldozed agricultural land in the village of Naqoura, north of Nablus in the northern West Bank, on Friday amid efforts to establish a new settlement outpost.
The PIC correspondent reported that the land that was bulldozed belongs to citizens Mahmoud Abu Aida and Mahmoud Al-Sarsour, and the settlers placed a layer of gravel in preparation for establishing a settlement outpost in the area.
One of the settlers, who identified himself as “Hanania,” told the farmers that the goal is to create a park at the site.
The settler threatened that if the farmers objected, their greenhouses would be destroyed, which caused a state of tension and fear among the residents.
The village of Naqoura is one of the Palestinian areas facing a continuous escalation of settler attacks, and the agricultural lands in this region are subjected to repeated attempts by settlers for settlement expansion.
In another unrelated development, the Israeli occupation municipality of Jerusalem bulldozed a 500-square-meter piece of land belonging to the Shuqairat family in the village of Jabal Mukabber on Thursday without prior warning, under the pretext of lacking a permit.
