NABLUS (Palestine Foundation Information Center) A group of Jewish settlers set fire on Monday evening to agricultural lands planted with wheat in the Burqa Plain, northwest of Nablus in the northern West Bank.
Local sources reported that the fires ignited by settlers devastated large areas of wheat crops, resulting in the near-total destruction of the harvest.
Farmer Samir Rashid Masoud, from the town of Burqa, stated that this was the third incident of its kind to target his land, highlighting the repeated settler attacks on farmers and their properties in the area.
The Burqa Plain is considered one of the most significant agricultural regions in the northern West Bank, with local residents heavily reliant on wheat cultivation as a primary source of livelihood.
The area has witnessed a surge in settler violence, particularly following the re-establishment of the nearby “Homesh” outpost, which continues to serve as a source of tension for Palestinian residents.
