Israeli Settlers Step Up Attacks Northeast of Ramallah Under IOF Guard

RAMALLAH, (Palestine Foundation Information Center), Israeli settlers escalated their attacks on Monday against Palestinian residents in villages northeast of Ramallah, as part of an ongoing policy aimed at pressuring communities and seizing their land under the protection of Israeli occupation forces (IOF).

Local sources said settlers released their livestock near Palestinian homes in the village of al-Mughayyir, northeast of Ramallah, causing damage to agricultural land and areas surrounding houses.

The sources added that these assaults form part of systematic efforts to impose new facts on the ground, through property destruction and intimidation designed to force residents off their land, paving the way for the expansion of settlement outposts surrounding the village.

In a related development, settlers brought mobile caravans to a settlement outpost established on land belonging to the village of Atara, north of Ramallah, in a move aimed at entrenching and expanding the outpost. Residents fear the step is intended to transform it into a permanent settlement in the near future.

Villagers in the targeted areas say such attacks occur almost daily, in the absence of any deterrence. They called on international institutions and human rights organizations to intervene urgently to halt settler violations and to protect Palestinian civilians and their land.
