GAZA (Palestine Foundation Information Center) The Palestinian Red Crescent Society announced the suspension of operations at the Al-Zaytoun Medical Clinic in Gaza City after Israeli shelling struck the area surrounding the facility, posing a serious threat to the safety of medical staff and patients.
In a statement issued Tuesday, the Society said the clinic serves thousands of patients, particularly as the area has become overcrowded with displaced people from eastern Gaza following evacuation orders issued by the Israeli occupation forces.
The statement stressed that closing the clinic will force thousands of citizens to travel long distances to access healthcare services or obtain vaccinations for their children.
It also pointed out that continued evacuation orders and military actions since the start of the aggression on Gaza have resulted in halting services in 18 of the Society’s medical clinics.
