HAIFA (Palestine Foundation Information Center) An Israeli soldier was seriously wounded in a car-ramming attack in Haifa on Monday outside a military base in the city, police and medics said.
The attacker then exited the vehicle and ran toward the entrance of the naval base, waving an axe, before he was shot dead by an Israel officer at the scene, the army said.
Police officers arrived at the scene of the incident and began searching the area and investigating the circumstances behind the incident.
A Hebrew media outlet, quoting a police spokesperson, identified the attacker as Wasim abu el-Hoja from the town of Tamara in Western Galilee.
