Israel’s annexation moves nullify Oslo Accords, National Commission urges unity

BEIRUT, (Palestine Foundation Information Center), The National Commission for Palestinian Popular Action rejects the aggressive, expansionist, and dangerous resolutions approved by the Israeli Security Cabinet and announced by Ministers Smotrich and Katz. The Commission maintains that these measures are not merely isolated administrative steps, but rather an integrated strategic plan aimed at imposing a new demographic and geographic reality. This project of de facto annexation in the West Bank and Jerusalem complements the crime of genocide in Gaza, forming part of a comprehensive policy to eliminate Palestinian presence.

In this context, the Commission brings the following facts to the public:

  1. The final death knell for the Oslo Accords
The Commission considers these decisions to be the final nail in the coffin of the “Oslo Accords” and its annexes, by effectively abolishing the geographical classifications of Areas A, B, and C and imposing absolute Israeli sovereignty. This completely terminates any illusion of a political settlement and the granting of free concessions practiced by the leadership of the PA and the PLO, which the occupation has exploited for years as a cover for its settlement expansion.
  2. Warning of mass legal violations of international law
The measures to declassify land records, the legalization of property theft and the transfer of administrative powers over the Ibrahimi Mosque and the heart of al-Khalil, constitute a grave breach of international law and resolutions. The Commission emphasizes that these policies aim to enforce demographic changes and entrench an Apartheid regime through sham legal instruments designed to legitimize settlement.
  3. Condemnation of international negligence and political hypocrisy
The Commission deplores the international silence and negligence regarding these schemes. The fact that international powers limit themselves to statements of “concern” without taking deterrent punitive measures or implementing a comprehensive boycott of the occupation, is a form of political hypocrisy that encourages the occupation authorities to proceed with the crime of systematic settlement expansion.
  4. Call for national unity, joint action based on confronting and countering these illegal measures
The Commission believes that confronting this encroachment can only be achieved through genuine national unity based on confrontation, and by abandoning reliance on a settlement with the occupation. The current moment demands that the leadership of the Palestinian Authority and the PLO divest themselves of Oslo’s obligations. They must implement the resolutions of the National and Central Councils to annul the Oslo and Paris Agreements, end security coordination, move beyond previous paths and rally around a unified struggle strategy that protects the land and the people.
  5. An appeal for global legal and popular action
The Commission appeals to our people at home and in the diaspora, and to all the free people of the world and active elements, to move urgently to confront these schemes through:
-The Legal Path: Prosecuting occupation leaders in international courts on charges of illegal annexation and ethnic cleansing.
-The Political Path: Applying international pressure to impose economic and diplomatic sanctions on the settlement system.
-The Popular Path: Escalating field activities and protests in all arenas to expose the policy of negation and displacement.

The Commission holds the international community fully responsible for the consequences of this encroachment and asserts that the unity and will of our people is the rock upon which all conspiracies of annexation and displacement will shatter.
