BEIRUT, (Palestine Foundation Information Center )One person was killed on Monday afternoon in an Israeli drone strike in eastern Lebanon in a new violation of the ceasefire agreement.
Lebanon’s National News Agency reported that the strike targeted an excavator in the Shamsiya area of Sohmor in the Beqaa Valley, killing its driver.
Footage on social media showed scenes of the aftermath of the attack as responders appeared to be carrying the victim away on a stretcher.
A large number of drones were reportedly flying at low altitude over different villages in southern and eastern Lebanon.
One of the drones targeted Aitaroun town this afternoon, while another one bombed a house in the town of Houmin al-Fauqa. No casualties were reported.
The Israeli occupation forces continue to target homes, vehicles and motorcycles in different areas of southern Lebanon despite a ceasefire agreement that started on November 27, 2024.
Under the agreement, Israel was to withdraw all its forces from southern Lebanon, but despite the deal, these forces have remained at five Lebanese border positions.
