Jerusalem: Al-Aqsa Mosque desecrated by settler intrusion

OCCUPIED JERUSALEM, (Palestine Foundation Information Center), Scores of extremist Jewish settlers desecrated the Aqsa Mosque in Occupied Jerusalem on Sunday morning and later in the afternoon, amid restrictions on the entry of Muslim worshipers to the holy site.

According to local sources, dozens of Jewish settlers entered the Mosque through its Maghariba Gate and toured its courtyards under police protection.

During their tours at the Islamic holy site, the settlers received lectures from rabbis about the alleged temple mount, and a number of them performed Talmudic prayers and other provocative practices, especially in the eastern area of the Mosque and at the staircase leading to the plateau of the Dome of the Rock building.

Meanwhile, the Israeli occupation police imposed movement and entry restrictions on Muslim worshipers at the Aqsa Mosque’s entrances and gates and prevented many of them from entering the holy site.

While facilitating settler tours at the Islamic holy site, the Israeli police have recently issued orders banning several Palestinians from Jerusalem and 1948 occupied Palestine from entering the Aqsa Mosque.

Today, the Israeli police summoned Jerusalemite activist Hinadi al‑Halawani for interrogation and handed her a written order, signed by Israeli premier Benjamin Netanyahu, prohibiting her from traveling abroad until March 2, 2026.

The Israeli police also summoned Jerusalemite Ramzi al‑Abbasi for questioning, shortly after he returned to the country. He recently achieved a Palestinian milestone by climbing Mount Kilimanjaro in Tanzania.
