OCCUPIED JERUSALEM,(Palestine Foundation Information Center) The Jerusalem Governorate has affirmed that Israeli occupation authorities are working to impose a Judaized identity on the city of Jerusalem and erase its Palestinian identity.
In a statement issued on Monday, the governorate explained that the occupation is using what is known as the “Food Festival” which continues until the 24th of this month to impose an artificial cultural reality that serves Israel’s Judaization project.
The statement noted that the festival, held for the seventh consecutive year, takes place in the area of the “High Commissioner’s Palace” southeast of Jerusalem’s historic Old City wall, with the participation of more than 30 restaurants and includes light shows displayed over the city’s sky.
The governorate stressed that this festival is part of a series of Judaization-focused cultural activities organized by the occupation to promote false narratives and present stolen or fabricated cultural elements, in an attempt to impose a Jewish identity on the city and distort its rich history.
It emphasized that such events serve as a soft cover to impose Judaization and called for popular and international resistance to these practices, reaffirming Jerusalem’s Palestinian identity, historically, religiously, and culturally.
The Jerusalem Governorate reiterated that the occupation’s policies will not succeed in changing the reality or erasing the collective memory of the Palestinian people and their civilizational heritage.
