WEST BANK, (Palestine Foundation Information Center), Several towns across the West Bank witnessed a new escalation in Jewish settler attacks on Friday, resulting in injuries and widespread property damage.
In the town of Jalud, south of Nablus, a number of residents sustained bruises while attempting to confront settlers who attacked the outskirts of the town. Settlers set fire to a storage facility and a vehicle belonging to resident Imad Hammoud, causing a blaze that was later brought under control. Four additional homes were also damaged.
Settlers also threw stones at several houses, shattering windows.
Additionally, two foreign activists were injured in a settler attack in the Ras al-Ain area of Qusra village, south of Nablus. Local sources reported that settlers assaulted the activists, who were present in solidarity with local residents.
In the village of Al-Minya, southeast of Bethlehem, settlers broke into residents’ homes, while others plowed land in the village of Qaryut, near Nablus, after seizing control of it.
The attacks come as part of ongoing campaigns carried out by settlers under Israeli military protection.
Meanwhile, clashes broke out Friday evening between Palestinian youths and Israeli forces in the town of Tuqu’, southeast of Bethlehem, amid the rising wave of settler violence across the West Bank, particularly in the Nablus area.
Israeli soldiers fired tear gas at the youths during the clashes and deployed within the town, though no injuries were reported.
Israeli forces also raided the towns of Al-Khader, southwest of Bethlehem, and Za’tara, east of the city, positioning themselves near the central mosque without reports of home raids or arrests.
In another incident, settlers attacked foreign activists in Khirbet Al-Marajem, near the village of Duma southeast of Nablus and in Qusra village in southern Nablus, spraying them with pepper spray and beating them.
