OCCUPIED JERUSALEM (Palestine Foundation Information Center) Hundreds of extremist Jewish settlers continued to desecrate the Aqsa Mosque’s courtyards on Thursday morning on the third day of the week-long Passover festival, amid ongoing restrictions on the entry of Muslim worshipers to their Islamic holy site in Occupied Jerusalem.
The Administration of Jerusalem’s Awqaf and al-Aqsa Mosque Affairs said that over 700 settlers stormed the Aqsa Mosque in different groups in the morning under tight police guard, adding that this number was likely to increase, especially in the afternoon.
Meanwhile, the Israeli occupation police imposed restrictions on the entry of Muslim worshipers to the Aqsa Mosque and expelled many of them from the holy site and the roads leading to it during the settler tours of its courtyards.
The Aqsa Mosque is exposed to daily desecration by Jewish settlers and police forces in the morning and the afternoon except on Fridays and Saturdays.
Recently, Jewish settler groups announced their intent to organize mass break-ins and perform provocative practices at the Aqsa Mosque to mark the Passover event, while Palestinian figures and activists urged Muslim worshipers to intensify their presence at the Mosque at all times to protect it against desecration and Judaization.
