Jewish settlers damage Palestinian-owned irrigation system, crops in JV

WEST BANK, (The Palestine Foundation Pakistan)A group of extremist Jewish settlers vandalized a water network in the northern Jordan Valley last night.

Local sources reported that settlers damaged the water irrigation system serving a plot of agricultural land spanning dozens of dunums, belonging to a Palestinian citizen in the Khallet Khader al-Farisiya area.

According to local sources, those settlers also destroyed a corn crop that had been irrigated by the targeted water network.

Over the past two years, several Palestinian families have been forced to leave the area due to escalating settler attacks, leading to the complete depopulation of the Palestinian community.

Two other nearby communities were also affected by the same pattern of settler violence.

In a separate incident, a horde of settlers escorted by soldiers attacked, on Tuesday morning, Palestinian farmers and stole olives from their groves in Khallet an-Nakhla area near Wadi Rahhal village, south of Bethlehem.

Chief of the village council Hamdi Ziyada said that a group of settlers stormed the groves of Issa Khalil and started to collect olives from trees, adding that when the landowner and other farmers tried to protect the olive groves, the settlers and soldiers savagely assaulted them, injuring one of them.

In Qalqilya, local sources reported that Israeli forces stormed the northwestern area of Kafr Qaddum village, known as “Qata’yen” and gathered at its entrance in the morning.

The soldiers reportedly blocked local farmers from reaching their lands to harvest olives, forcing dozens to wait for hours in hopes of being allowed to pass and resume their agricultural activity.
