GAZA (Palestine Foundation Information Center) An Israeli strike on Gaza killed a Palestinian journalist on Sunday amid the ongoing Israeli genocidal war on the Gaza Strip.
Al Jazeera TV channel affirmed that its photojournalist was killed in the Nuseirat refugee camp bombardment.
“Al Jazeera cameraman Ahmed al-Louh was killed today, Sunday, in an Israeli bombardment,” the network’s Arabic-language website reported, adding the strike targeted the Nuseirat refugee camp in central Gaza.
Al-Louh is the second journalist to be killed over the past 24 hours in the Gaza Strip.
Journalist Muhammad Jabr Qrainawi, an editor at the SANAD News Agency, was martyred on Saturday evening in a similar Israeli airstrike that targeted his home in the Al-Bureij refugee camp in the central Gaza Strip.
The number of journalists killed in Israeli attacks on the Gaza Strip since Oct. 7, 2023, has soared to 196, Gaza’s Government Media Office (GMO) said.
“The number of journalist martyrs has risen to 196 following the martyrdom of journalist Ahmed al-Louh, a photographer for Al Jazeera in the Central Governorate.”
The GMO condemned the Israeli occupation’s targeting, killing and assassination of Palestinian journalists, holding it fully responsible for this heinous crime.
It also called on the international community and international organizations to put an end to the ongoing Israeli crimes against Palestinian journalists.
