Dr. Khalil al-Hayya, head of the Hamas Movement in the Gaza Strip, affirmed that Gaza represents the voice and conscience of the Arab and Islamic nation in confronting aggression and injustice. He emphasized that the Palestinian people will not accept erasure or surrender of their legitimate rights, and that their struggle will continue until freedom and independence are achieved.
In his speech at the Arab National Conference held on Friday, al-Hayya said that Gaza has called upon the Arab and Islamic nations to stand with it as it faces attempts to erase the Palestinian cause. He added, “Gaza, which stood up to tyranny and confronted the evil forces seeking to wipe out our national identity, calls on you today to walk alongside it in pursuing our legitimate national aspirations.”
He noted that, despite deep wounds, the people of Gaza remain steadfast, still searching for shelter, clean water, and medicine, yet continuing to endure and cling to life amid the rubble of their homes and the blood of martyrs.
The Hamas official declared that Gaza “will remain great through its steadfastness and resistance.”
Al-Hayya pointed out that the “Al-Aqsa Flood” operation on October 7 was a response to efforts to marginalize the Palestinian cause and build a “new Middle East” at the expense of Palestinian rights. He said, “October 7 erased the false narrative and redrew the true one, awakening the human conscience around the world.”
He stressed that peace and stability in the region cannot be achieved without establishing a Palestinian state, ensuring the return of refugees, and enabling the Palestinian people to exercise their right to self-determination.
Al-Hayya affirmed that the Israeli occupation will inevitably end and that Gaza and Palestine will remain symbols of resilience until full liberation is realized.
