GAZA, (Palestine Foundation Information Center), The Israeli occupation army carried out aerial and artillery attacks on the eastern areas of the Gaza Strip, marking the 55th consecutive day of ceasefire violations following a deadly attack that claimed the lives of eight civilians and injured many others.
The Palestinian Information Center (PIC) reporter said that Israeli warplanes launched heavy raids east of Khan Yunis, while artillery fire targeted the eastern outskirts of the Strip.
Additional airstrikes hit eastern Rafah in the south, and Israeli military vehicles opened fire north of Rafah.
Local sources said Israeli forces detonated a remote-controlled armored vehicle carrying explosives in Gaza City’s ash‑Shuja’iya neighborhood, while military vehicles withdrew back inside the yellow line area.
Israeli gunboats also opened fire at tents sheltering displaced families west of Gaza City. Luckily, no one was injured.
On Wednesday evening, six Palestinians, including two children, were killed and 32 others were injured when Israeli strikes targeted tents of displaced families in al‑Najah camp in al‑Mawasi area of western Khan Yunis.
Two more Palestinians were killed earlier in the day in Israeli attacks on al‑Zeitoun neighborhood, southeast of Gaza City.
The Israeli army continues to breach the ceasefire agreement, which took effect on October 10, through repeated bombardments, gunfire, and the detonation of civilian homes across the Gaza Strip.
Since the ceasefire agreement came into force on October 10, at least 368 Palestinians have been killed, mostly children, women and elderly people, and more than 920 others have sustained injuries.
