KHAN YUNIS (Palestine Foundation Information Center) The municipality of Khuza’a, located east of Khan Younis in the southern Gaza Strip, has declared the town a disaster area following its complete destruction by the Israeli occupation army. Continuous and direct bombardment has obliterated the town, affecting every aspect of life and rendering it entirely uninhabitable.
In a press statement released Saturday, the municipality confirmed that the Israeli occupation forces (IOF) have razed all homes, with health and educational facilities totally destroyed and out of service.
The statement added that roads and essential infrastructure have also been demolished, and residents were forced to flee under intense bombardment and gunfire by the IOF.
Municipal officials emphasized that the destruction of Khuza’a constitutes a blatant violation of international humanitarian law and represents a continuing war crime. They noted that the scale of devastation exceeds all prior estimates, leaving the town completely nonfunctional.
“The people of Khuza’a have been forcibly displaced from their homes and are now scattered across various areas, living under catastrophic humanitarian conditions that worsen daily,” the statement said.
On Friday, aerial imagery—captured by the IOF—showed the complete leveling of Khuza’a, including its homes, roads, and farmland, confirming the town’s total destruction due to the ongoing Israeli genocide in Gaza.
