OCCUPIED JERUSALEM (Palestine Foundation Information Center)Thousands of extremist Israeli settlers stormed the Bab al-Amud (Damascus Gate) area in Occupied Jerusalem to take part in the so-called “Flag March”, raising Israeli flags and chanting racist and inciteful slogans against Arabs and Islam in the heart of Palestinian neighborhoods.
Participants in the march waved Israeli flags while singing and dancing to nationalist and racist songs. The march traditionally ends in the evening at the Al-Buraq Wall, referred to by Jewish Israelis as the “Western Wall”.
Among the prominent figures present at the march were far-right ministers Itamar Ben Gvir, Bezalel Smotrich, and Yitzhak Wasserlauf. They joined settlers in performing Talmudic rituals and dances in the Bab al-Amud square, chanting inflammatory slogans such as: “In ‘67 – Jerusalem is in our hands, in 2025 – Gaza is in our hands, no Nakba – no victory”, “Flatten Gaza”, “Let Shuafat burn”, and “Mohammed is dead”.
Israeli police were heavily deployed throughout occupied Jerusalem and around the walls of the Old City.
Each year, thousands of far-right settlers, many of them religious nationalists, participate in the march, which begins in the western part of the city and makes its way through the Muslim Quarter of the Old City—home to a large Palestinian population.
