GAZA (Palestine Foundation Information Center) Two members of the aid security personnel were martyred due to direct gunfire from a group of thieves and highway robbers at the entrance of Al-Nuseirat refugee camp in central Gaza on Wednesday.
According to local sources, the looters attacked some of the aid trucks that were being secured by security personnel, resulting in the martyrdom of the young men Ismail Al-Batniji and Ibrahim Al-Arabid, and the injury of several other members of the aid security forces.
Throughout the months of war, aid trucks have been targeted by individuals and gangs, depriving hundreds of thousands of their food supplies, coinciding with rising prices of goods in the markets. This exacerbates their living conditions amid increasing warnings of a severe famine spreading in northern Gaza and extending to densely populated southern areas with around 2 million displaced people.
The Government Media Office (GMO) in Gaza condemned on Wednesday evening the repeated attacks against humanitarian aid security personnel in the Strip.
The GMO emphasized in its statement the necessity of a firm stance from international organizations and the world to stop these violations. Throughout the bloody months of war, the Israeli occupation army has deliberately contributed to systematically spreading chaos and disorder by targeting police forces and their headquarters, as well as those distributing aid from the popular committees formed from all segments of society.
