New York Mayor Zohran Mamdani, in a key meeting with U.S. President Donald Trump, strongly demanded an end to financial aid being provided to Israel.
Speaking to the media after the meeting, Mamdani stated:
“The Zionist military is committing genocide against Palestinians, and our government is empowering them with taxpayers’ money. The people of New York want their money spent on public necessities, not wars.”
He added that remaining silent on Israel’s atrocities against Palestinians is equivalent to complicity, which is why he stood before President Trump to demand an end to this policy.
Meanwhile, U.S. President Donald Trump commented after the meeting:
“Meeting Zohran Mamdani has completely changed my perspective.”
However, when asked about a potential arrest of Netanyahu, Trump smiled and said:
“That was not discussed.”
