RAMALLAH (Palestine Foundation Information Center) The Hamas official Mahmoud Mardawi said the Palestinian people and resistance will not allow the fascist Israeli occupation to pass its plans of annexation and displacement in the West Bank, including Jerusalem.
Mardawi stressed, in press statements on Monday, that “what is being planned by the Israeli government’s extremists as Netanyahu, Smotrich and Ben-Gvir is extremely dangerous and threatening not only the West Bank but also the brother country of Jordan.”
The leader Mardawi explained that the past decades have proven the failure of all settlement solutions with the Israeli occupation, stressing that the Palestinian people have been left no other choice but resistance.
He cautioned that the escalating demolitions in occupied Jerusalem, robbing lands in the West Bank and building settlements are pointing to a difficult stage, calling for mobilizing to confront the Israeli aggression and preserving the Palestinian land and people.
Mardawi stressed the need to put an end to the Israeli occupation’s violations and practices aimed at expanding the war of genocide from the Gaza Strip to the West Bank through demolitions, displacement, and destruction.
Israeli right leaders are optimistic that US president-elect Donald Trump’s return to the White House would pave the way for annexing the occupied West Bank. Smotrich said that Trump’s election represents an “opportunity to extend sovereignty” over the West Bank.
The figures of the Palestinian Wall and Settlement Resistance Authority indicate that the occupied West Bank has witnessed since the beginning of this year Israeli confiscation of about 42,000 dunums of Palestinian lands.
According to Israeli estimates, more than 700,000 Israelis reside in settlements in the West Bank, including East Jerusalem where settlement activity has been witnessing a remarkable escalation since the current right-wing government took power in December 2022.
