Mass arrest drive by Israeli occupation spreads across West Bank

BANK BANK, (The Palestine Foundation Pakistan)

The Israeli occupation forces (IOF) conducted at dawn on Thursday a widespread campaign of raids and arrests across the West Bank and Jerusalem, even converting a civilian home in northern Ramallah into a makeshift interrogation center.

In Tulkarem, the IOF troops raided several areas and arrested former prisoner Munir Abu Al-Hala from Iktaba suburb and youth Osman Al-Ghoul from Nur Shams refugee camp.

In Ramallah, Maeen Al-Barghouthi was detained in Beitunia, while forces stormed Beit Rima, raiding the home of ex-detainee Mazen Al-Rimawi. He and his family were held for hours, and the house was turned into a field interrogation center. Dozens of young men and former prisoners from Beit Rima and nearby Deir Ghassaneh were interrogated, some were later released, while others remain in custody with their identities still unknown.

In Occupied Jerusalem, a minor was arrested in Al-Ram town, and two brothers were detained from Biddu town.

In Bethlehem, the Israeli forces also stormed Tuqu’ and Artas towns, detaining several young men.

These arrests form part of the Israeli occupation’s ongoing strategy of instilling fear and exerting control over Palestinians through nightly raids and arbitrary detentions in the West Bank and Jerusalem.
