ANKARA (Palestine Foundation Information Center) A massive demonstration was launched on Tuesday evening in the Turkish capital, Ankara, in support of the Palestinian people and in demand for putting an end to the ongoing aggression on the besieged Gaza Strip for the sixth month in a row.
According to Turkish media, tens of thousands participated in the huge rally that kicked off after “Tarawih” prayers from the Kocatepe Mosque. It was organized by “Ankara Solidarity Platform with Palestine,” in rejection of the Israeli ongoing massacres against the people of the Gaza Strip, the sources added.
The demonstrators raised Palestinian flags, many of them wearing keffiyehs and chanting slogans such as “Freedom for Palestine,” “Free Palestine from the river to the sea,” and “Trade with Israel is betrayal of Palestine.”
A spokesman for Ankara Solidarity Platform for Palestine denounced the atrocities committed by the Israeli occupation army inside and around Al-Shifa Medical Complex in Gaza City, during its aggression against the largest health institution in the besieged Strip for 14 days.
Türkiye has witnessed protests and demonstrations in support of Palestine since the outbreak of the aggression against Gaza on October 7, 2023, in addition to boycott campaigns of products and companies associated with Israel.
For the 180th day in a row, the Israeli occupation army has been carrying out crimes and massacres as part of the genocidal war it is waging against the people of the Gaza Strip, targeting inhabited homes and medical and journalistic teams.
The death toll from the ongoing aggression on the Gaza Strip rose to about 33,000 martyrs, and more than 75,000 wounded, in addition to thousands missing under the rubble, according to the Ministry of Health in Gaza.
