Massive turnout at Al-Aqsa as worshippers perform Tarawih prayers

OCCUPIED JERUSALEM, (Palestine Foundation Information Center), Tens of thousands of Muslim worshipers performed on Monday the Isha and Tarawih prayers at the Aqsa Mosque in Occupied Jerusalem on the seventh night of the holy month of Ramadan.

According to local sources, about 50,000 Palestinian citizens were able to reach the Aqsa Mosque despite the Israeli restrictions imposed on their entry to the Old City of Jerusalem and the Aqsa Mosque.

The Israeli occupation police reportedly imposed security measures and movement restrictions in Jerusalem, especially in the Old City and its vicinity, and prevented many citizens from the West Bank from entering the holy city.

A number of women and men, who were banished from the Aqsa Mosque, performed the nighttime prayers on the streets of the holy city.

In recent weeks, the Israeli occupation police have escalated restrictions on Muslims, issuing orders that have banned dozens of Palestinians from Jerusalem and 1948 occupied Palestine from entering the Aqsa Mosque.
