BEIRUT (Palestine Foundation Information Center) The Lebanese Ministry of Health announced Thursday evening the martyrdom of 88 people and the injury of 153 others in brutal Israeli attacks across the country during the past 24 hours.
This brings the number of martyrs to more than 700 and the wounded to more than 2,600, most of them children and women, it added.
In a statement on Thursday, the ministry announced that at least 50 children and 95 women were martyred in ongoing Israeli raids since Monday morning.
On Friday, at least five children from the same family were martyred in an Israeli attack on Beirut.
The Coordinator of the Emergency Committee and Minister of Environment in the Lebanese government, Nasser Yassin, on Wednesday estimated the number of the displaced people who were forced to leave their homes due to the Israeli attacks at 150,000.
In an event in New York on Tuesday, the Lebanese Foreign Ministry, Abdullah Bouhebib, said that the number of Lebanese displaced people due to the current escalation is close to half a million.
Since last Monday, the Israeli occupation army has launched the “fiercest and broadest” attack on Lebanon since confrontations with Hezbollah began about a year ago.
The Lebanese Minister of Health, Firas Abiad, told the CNN, that more than 40 health care workers were martyred in the Israeli attacks this week, pointing out that ambulances were subjected to direct targeting.
