South Africa(Palestine Foundation Information Center)The 5th International Solidarity With Palestine Conference has commenced in Johannesburg South Africaarks the tenth anniversary of the great revolutionary leader Nelson Mandela, who struggled against apartheid.
The conference delegates from North America, Latin America, Europe, Asia, and Africa are participating in the conference, with representatives from 72 countries worldwide.
Dr. Sabir Abu Maryam, Secretary-General of the Palestine Foundation Pakistan, is representing Pakistan in the conference.
The event includes participants from parliamentarians, senators, ministers, and representatives of human rights organizations.
Various Palestinian resistance movements, including Hamas, Islamic Jihad, Hezbollah, Ansar Allah, and Fatah, along with the heirs of Palestinian martyrs, are actively involved in the conference.
The opening ceremony took place in Johannesburg on Sunday, attended by ambassadors from all countries, including the Pakistani Ambassador Aftab Hasan Khan.
Dr. Basem Naem, a senior leader of Hamas, addressed the opening ceremony, along with speeches from Hezbollah leader Ibrahim Musawi and Islamic Jihad leader Ihsan Ataya.
Nelson Mandela’s grandson, Nkosi Mandela, and parliamentarians from South Africa, Algeria, Kenya, Chile, and Greece also addressed the conference.
Dr. Sabir Abu Maryam delivered a speech during the conference. Heirs of Palestinian martyrs who came from Gaza and the West Bank also addressed the conference.
A significant presence of local South African organizations was observed at the conference, which will continue until December 5th.
