Ceasefire Breach: Hamas Responds to Deadly Al-Tuffah Bombing

GAZA, (Palestine Foundation Information Center), The Hamas Movement condemned the Israeli artillery shelling of the Al-Tuffah neighborhood in eastern Gaza City, which killed several civilians, most of them children, calling it a brutal massacre and a blatant, repeated violation of the ceasefire agreement.

In a statement issued early Saturday, Hamas said the Israeli government continues to violate the truce through deliberate and ongoing attacks on civilians in the Gaza Strip. The Movement noted that over 400 Palestinians have been killed since the agreement was announced more than two months ago.

The statement also denounced the international community’s failure to act, criticizing the silence and inaction in the face of the occupation’s crimes, describing the Israeli government as fascist.

Hamas stressed that the Israeli occupation, in addition to targeting civilians, worsens the humanitarian disaster by blocking ambulances and medical teams from reaching bombing sites and by hindering rescue efforts, actions that constitute a clear breach of international humanitarian law.

The Movement renewed its call for the ceasefire guarantors and the US administration to fulfill their responsibilities, urging urgent intervention to stop Netanyahu’s government from imposing terms that contradict the ceasefire agreement and effectively overturn it.

On Friday evening, six Palestinians were killed and several others were injured in an Israeli attack on a school sheltering displaced families in Al-Tuffah, east of Gaza City.

Israeli forces continue to carry out airstrikes across various parts of the Gaza Strip, as part of ongoing violations of the ceasefire agreement signed on October 10.
