BEIRUT, (Palestine Foundation Information Center), Israeli army carried out a series of airstrikes on towns in southern Lebanon on Saturday, marking a new violation of the ceasefire agreement signed between Lebanon and Israel.
Lebanese sources reported that Israeli raids struck Wadi Barghaz, the town of Sajd and the outskirts of Blat in the Marjayoun district.
Two additional airstrikes targeted areas around the town of al-Sriri in the south. Lebanese media outlets said Israeli warplanes also launched multiple strikes on the highlands of Iqlim al-Tuffah.
Al-Manar TV reported that Israeli quadcopter drones dropped explosive devices for the third time in the town of Markaba.
Meanwhile, the Israeli army claimed it had targeted “Hezbollah infrastructure” in southern Lebanon, saying in a brief statement that its air force was conducting strikes against what it described as Hezbollah sites.
The attacks come amid continued Israeli violations of the ceasefire that took effect in November 2024.
Since then, Israel has carried out intermittent strikes in southern Lebanon and continues to occupy several Lebanese hilltops seized during the last war, in addition to other areas it has held for decades.
Israel’s assault on Lebanon, which began in October 2023 and escalated into full-scale war in September 2024, killed more than 4,000 people and injured around 17,000 before a ceasefire was reached.
