BEIRUT, (Palestine Foundation Information Center) One person was killed and five others were injured on Friday following an Israeli drone strike on a car in Nabatieh, southern Lebanon, in the latest violation of the ceasefire agreement in place since late November 2024.
According to the Lebanese National News Agency, an Israeli drone fired four missiles at a car traveling along the Nmairiyeh–Sharqieh road in the town of Nmairiyeh.
The Lebanese Ministry of Health stated that the Israeli strike “resulted in the martyrdom of one person and the injury of five others,” without specifying the severity of their conditions.
As of 14:30 GMT, Lebanese official sources had not released details regarding the identities of the victims.
Also in Nabatieh Governorate, the Lebanese National News Agency reported that an Israeli patrol breached the withdrawal line in the outskirts — a densely wooded area — of Kfar Shouba in the Hasbaya district, advancing 400 meters into Lebanese territory and opening fire toward shepherds. Fortunately, no injuries were reported.
The agency also noted intense, low-altitude flights of Israeli drones over the capital Beirut and its southern suburbs.
Israel launched an offensive on Lebanon on 8 October 2023, which escalated into a full-scale war by 23 September 2024, resulting in more than 4,000 martyrs and around 17,000 wounded.
A ceasefire agreement between Hezbollah and Israel came into effect on 27 November 2024, but Israel has violated it more than 3,000 times, resulting in at least 238 martyrs and 551 wounded, according to official figures.
In defiance of the agreement, the Israeli army continues to occupy five strategic hills in southern Lebanon that it seized during the recent war, in addition to other areas it has occupied for decades.
