Palestinian man killed following car ramming incident

OCCUPIED JERUSALEM (Palestine Foundation Information Center) A Palestinian man was shot and killed following a stabbing and car-ramming attack in Hadera town, within the Green Line, on Thursday evening.

At least 11 Jewish settlers were injured in the incident, three of them were in serious condition.

“At 16:17 today, Israel Police’s emergency dispatch received reports of a ramming attack at Karkur Junction, where a vehicle struck multiple civilians waiting at a bus stop,” Israeli police said in a statement.

Police said 11 people, including a police officer, were wounded, and that three of them were in serious condition.

The suspect was a “53-year-old Palestinian from the Jenin area, [who] was residing in Israel unlawfully with his family,” the police statement added.

“The circumstances of his presence in Israel are under investigation,” the police said, adding that “preliminary findings indicate that he deliberately targeted civilians waiting at a bus stop.”

Commenting on the incident, the Hamas Movement hailed the resistance operation that came “despite the occupation’s terrorism and strict security measures.”

“The car ramming and stabbing operation that took place this afternoon in the Karkur area near Hadera is a natural, heroic response to the brutal Israeli aggression and ongoing crimes in the occupied West Bank, especially in its northern governorates, and to the continued Judaization attempts in Aqsa Mosque, the Ibrahimi Mosque and our Islamic sanctities,” the Movement said.

The Movement stressed that “the operation sends a letter to the extremist Israeli government and its ministers that resistance will continue until the occupation is removed from all of our land.”
