Karachi (The Palestine Foundation Pakistan )
The Patron Committee of Palestine Foundation Pakistan (PLF), in an emergency meeting, strongly condemned the approval of the U.S.-sponsored resolution on the Gaza peace agreement in the United Nations Security Council. The committee declared that this resolution goes against the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people and described it as a conspiracy against the Palestinian nation and their resistance.
They further stated that Pakistan’s support for the U.S. resolution would weaken Pakistan’s historic stance on the Palestine issue and could also negatively impact Pakistan’s position on the Kashmir dispute.
Participants of the emergency meeting included Deputy Ameer of Jamaat-e-Islami Muslim Pervez; former MPA of MQM-Pakistan Advocate Mahfooz Yar Khan; Majlis Wahdat-e-Muslimeen’s Allama Baqir Zaidi; Jamiat Ulema Pakistan’s leader Allama Qazi Ahmed Noorani; Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz’s Pir Azhar Ali Hamdani; Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s Israr Abbasi; Awami National Party’s Younas Boniri; former Sindh Assembly member Major (R) Qamar Abbas; Basheer Khan Sadozai; and Secretary-General of Palestine Foundation Pakistan, Dr. Sabir Abu Maryam.
The leaders said that the support extended by Pakistan and other Muslim countries to Trump’s anti-Gaza proposal is deeply regrettable. They stated that if Muslim governments cannot genuinely assist the people of Gaza, they should at least refrain from becoming part of actions taken against Gaza.
They added that, on one hand, Pakistan’s representative claimed that Pakistan’s key points were not included in the resolution, yet Pakistan still voted in favor of it.
They further said that the deployment of an “International Stabilization Force” in Gaza is actually meant to protect Zionist interests, suppress the legitimate right of resistance of the people of Gaza, and is part of the U.S. President Donald Trump’s plans to turn Gaza into a so-called “tourist zone.”
The leaders demanded that the Government of Pakistan must not become part of any initiative led by the United States, the United Kingdom, and Israel. Doing so would not only erode the ideological foundations of Pakistan but also create serious challenges for the country at the global level.
They reiterated that Palestine belongs to the Palestinians, and only the Palestinians have the right to decide the fate and future of their land.
They affirmed their unwavering support, in accordance with the principles of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, for the Palestinian people’s right to self-determination and their right of return, and strongly condemned the passage of this unjust resolution in the UN Security Council.
