TULKAREM (Palestine Foundation Information Center) A Palestinian teenager was martyred at dawn Tuesday when an Israeli sniper opened fire at him in Tulkarem refugee camp in the occupied West Bank.
Local sources said that a teenager called Fathi Salem bled to death after an Israeli sniper opened fire at him in al-Hadayda neighborhood of the camp.
They added that the Israeli occupation forces (IOF) prevented an ambulance crew from entering the neighborhood to provide first aid for the teenager and attacked it with live ammunition.
Meanwhile, the IOF laid siege to the camp, intensified its presence in its streets, and deployed several snipers on rooftops of some tall buildings around it, who opened fire at any moving object or person.
IOF bulldozers also embarked on destroying roads, walls, cars, stores and different structures, and blocked the camp’s main entrance with mounds of dirt and rocks.
The IOF destruction of roads and infrastructure reportedly caused damage to the camp’s electricity grid and its internet and telecommunication services.
Al-Qassam Brigades of Hamas in Tulkarem said that a group of its fighters detonated a number of explosive devices at IOF vehicles and one bulldozer in the camp, affirming that the IOF sustained losses.
Al-Quds Brigades of Islamic Jihad in Tulkarem also showered the Israeli forces in the camp with bullets and detonated some explosive devices at them and their vehicles.
