NABLUS(Palestine Foundation Information Center) A Palestinian citizen was injured on Wednesday evening in a settler attack on Aqraba town, south of Nablus in the northern occupied West Bank.
Local sources reported that the citizen was shot in the leg with live ammunition after armed settlers broke into the town, triggering heightened tension in the area.
During the first half of 2025, settlers have committed 2,153 assaults across the West Bank, resulting in the killing of 4 Palestinian citizens.
These assaults have ranged from attacking villages and assaulting residents, to burning homes, opening fire on civilians, establishing settlement outposts, and seizing land.
Meanwhile, a group of settlers, under the protection of Israeli occupation forces, installed three mobile homes on Jabal al-Rahma in al-Khalil.
Local sources said that the occupation forces and settlers placed these structures near the Tel Rumeida settlement to serve settlement expansion plans and assert control over more land in the area, much of which has already been confiscated and subjected to severe security measures to forcibly displace residents.
Earlier, the Israeli forces installed three other mobile homes in the Khazaf al-Far area and in Souq al-Ateeq in the old city of al-Khalil, as part of expanding settlement outposts and entrenching settlement activity in the old city.
According to a report by the Wall and Settlement Resistance Commission, in the past six months, the occupation authorities have seized more than 800 dunums of Palestinian land under various pretexts, issuing 36 military seizure orders and one expropriation order, allegedly for road construction and expansion.
The report further indicated that during the first half of 2025, 23 settlement outposts have been established on Palestinian land, most of them agricultural/pastoral outposts, in the governorates of Ramallah, Nablus, al-Khalil, Qalqilya, Tubas, and Jerusalem — reflecting the settlers’ ongoing policy of imposing facts on the ground under full protection from the Israeli army.
Parallel to the ongoing genocide in Gaza, Israeli occupation forces and settlers have escalated their assaults in the West Bank, leading to the killing of at least 990 Palestinians, injuring around 7,000 others, and arresting over 18,000 since October 2023.
