RAMALLAH (Palestine Foundation Information Center) The Israeli authorities released on Wednesday the female journalist Asmaa Harish, from Ramallah, after spending 6 months in administrative detention in the Damon prison.
Harish was detained in April of this year, and has been since subjected to ill-treatment and serious violations at the hands of Israeli jailers as part of the systematic and unprecedented retaliatory measures imposed on male and female prisoners since the start of the Gaza genocide.
96 female prisoners remain in Israeli jails, including 27 female administrative detainees. This figure does not include Gaza’s female prisoners.
Following Asmaa’s release, 6 female journalists remain arbitrarily held in Israeli jails.
