TULKAREM (Palestine Foundation Information Center) The Palestine Red Crescent Society (PRCS) said on Monday evening that a Palestinian citizen was injured when Israeli forces opened fire at him in Tulkarem in the occupied West Bank.
In a statement, PRCS said one of its ambulance crews received from Israeli soldiers at a military gate near Baqa ash-Sharqiyya town, northeast of Tulkarem, a citizen suffering from a bullet injury in his knee.
PRCS added that its paramedics provided the wounded citizen with first aid and transferred him to the nearest hospital.
The Israeli occupation forces (IOF) usually opens fire at Palestinian workmen near checkpoints, gates and separation walls as they try to find jobs or reach workplaces inside 1948 occupied Palestine (Israel).
According to the latest Palestinian statistics, the IOF has about 872 military checkpoints and gates in the West Bank, and 145 of them has been set up since October 7, 2023.
