Palestinian killed, five injured in settler attack in Ramallah

WEST BANK, (Palestine Foundation Information Center )  The Palestinian Ministry of Health announced on Tuesday evening that 20-year-old Saeed Murad Naasan was killed after being shot by Israeli settlers in the village of Al-Mughayyir, northeast of Ramallah.

Local sources reported that at least five Palestinian civilians were injured, one of them critically, during an assault by Israeli settlers and the Israeli occupation forces on the village.

Ameen Abu Alia, head of the village council in Al-Mughayyir, said that settlers, under the protection of Israeli forces, attacked a public park in the southeastern part of the village and opened fire on civilians. Five people were wounded, one of them critically in the chest, and he was later pronounced dead.

In a separate incident, two Palestinian civilians were injured by Israeli forces in al-Khalil, southern West Bank, as the Israeli occupation authorities closed the Ibrahimi Mosque to Palestinian worshipers under the pretext of Jewish holidays. At the same time, the Israeli army carried out widespread raids and arrests in towns and cities across the West Bank during the early morning hours.

The Palestinian Ministry of Health reported that Al-Ahli Hospital in Halhul, north of al-Khalil, received two individuals wounded by Israeli gunfire, one of them in critical condition.

Local sources confirmed clashes broke out between Palestinian youth and Israeli forces during a military incursion into Halhul.

Israeli forces also raided the town of Dura and Al-Fawwar refugee camp in southern al-Khalil, deploying snipers on the rooftops of civilian homes.

According to local sources, Israeli soldiers obstructed students and teachers from reaching schools in Al-Fawwar camp, causing disruptions to the educational process. Troops reportedly occupied the rooftops of several homes in the area, further preventing access to schools.

Additionally, Israeli forces restricted the movement of residents in the town of Idhna, west of the city, by blocking the main gate that connects the town to Route 35. Soldiers fired stun grenades and toxic gas at civilians attempting to pass.

In Bethlehem, a Palestinian man was shot in the leg by Israeli soldiers east of the city. A local source said that Israeli forces opened live fire at residents in the Wadi Al-Hummus area, injuring the man, who was later transported to a hospital for treatment.

Alongside the ongoing genocide in Gaza, Israeli forces and settlers in the West Bank have killed at least 1,042 Palestinians and wounded around 10,160 others, in addition to arresting more than 19,000 people since October 2023, according to official Palestinian statistics.
