HAIFA (Palestine Foundation Information Center)A Palestinian young man was shot dead after he managed to kill one Israeli and injure five others, four seriously, in a stabbing operation in Haifa City on Monday morning.
The stabbing incident happened in Haifa’s Hamifratz central bus station.
According to the Israeli police, the stabber is 20-year-old Yitro Shaheen, a member of Israel’s Druze minority from the northern Arab town of Shfaram. He had returned to Israel last week after several months abroad.
Shaheen exited a bus, stabbed multiple Israeli citizens, and was subsequently neutralized by a security guard and a civilian at the scene, the police said in a statement.
In this regard, the Hamas Movement applauded the Haifa stabbing operation as “heroic,” urging the Palestinian masses in the West Bank, Jerusalem and 1948 occupied Palestine to use all forms of resistance against the Israeli occupation.
“The operation is a natural response to the Israeli occupation’s ongoing crimes against our people in the West Bank, Gaza and Jerusalem,” Hamas said in a statement.
