OCCUPIED JERUSALEM (Palestine Foundation Information Center) A Palestinian teenager was pronounced dead on Wednesday after he succumbed to bullet injuries he sustained when an armed Jewish settler reportedly opened fire at him yesterday in the east Jerusalem district of Silwan.
The Jerusalem governor’s office said that 17-year-old Omar Shuweiki was martyred after he suffered serious bullet injuries in Silwan, south of the Aqsa Mosque, adding that the Israeli police detained him despite his critical condition.
Eyewitnesses said they rushed to the scene after hearing three gunshots in Ein al-Luza neighborhood in Silwan, identifying the shooter as a settler guard.
They added that police officers searched and detained the wounded young man and then covered him with a silver blanket before taking him away.
