GAZA, (Palestine Foundation Information Center)، The Israeli occupation forces opened fire on Thursday evening in the Al-Tuffah neighborhood, east of Gaza City, resulting in the killing of a Palestinian woman and injury of several other civilians, according to local sources.
The sources reported that Israeli forces used heavy machine guns to target a group of residents in the area, leading to the woman’s death and leaving others wounded, some in critical condition.
This crime comes as the Israeli military continues to violate the ceasefire agreement in the Gaza Strip on a daily basis, with escalations persisting in various areas for the 54th consecutive day.
Since the ceasefire took effect on October 10, the number of Palestinians killed has risen to 359, most of them women, children, and elderly people. An additional 903 have been injured to varying degrees, according to official figures.
Since October 7, 2023, Gaza has endured a military campaign described as genocide, backed by the United States and Europe. The assault has involved widespread killing, destruction, displacement, starvation, and mass arrests, in defiance of international appeals and rulings by the International Court of Justice demanding a halt.
The war has left more than 240,000 Palestinians killed or wounded, over 11,000 missing, and hundreds of thousands displaced, all amid severe famine and a suffocating siege that has claimed the lives of many children. Meanwhile, Gaza’s cities and infrastructure lie in near-total ruin.
